We tell you what we would change
You should not have to arrive with a diagnosis. We say plainly what we would do differently, what we would leave alone, and why — including the parts nobody thinks to raise until they cost something.
Independent business advisory
Payments. Technology. Operations. Customer experience. Growth.
We help you see what you're missing.

How we advise
Most advice in this industry starts with a product and waits for you to name a problem. We work the other way round: we already know how businesses like yours get set up, where the money leaks and which terms come back to bite. We tell you that before you ask.
You should not have to arrive with a diagnosis. We say plainly what we would do differently, what we would leave alone, and why — including the parts nobody thinks to raise until they cost something.
Statements, processing agreements, hardware leases, the auto-renewal nobody diarised. Most of what a business overpays for is sitting in documents it was never walked through.
and sometimes it is not even in the top five.
How fast you are funded. Whether you have real recourse on a chargeback. Whether the technology suits how you actually work, and whether anyone answers the phone when it does not. A low rate on the wrong setup is not a saving.
Rates drift. Contracts renew. Vendors change terms and reprice quietly. Somebody should be watching that, and it should not have to be you. We keep the history, so the next decision starts from what already happened rather than from scratch.
The journey
Most of this costs you nothing and requires no conversation. The paid relationship starts at stage five, and only if the first four made it worth having.
Learn how the billing actually works, so nobody can rely on you not knowing.
We publish the explainers whether or not you ever call.
Find out what your setup is really costing you — in money, and in time.
Six questions, an honest read, and no obligation attached.
Put your fees against a published test written by someone with no stake in the answer.
We apply the Fair Payments Standard the same way to every processor, including ours.
See the real options for how you operate, including the ones we do not place.
We show who each platform is wrong for. Sometimes the answer is to keep what you have.
Get it installed, configured and the staff trained without losing a week of trading.
A person who has done it before, on site when it matters.
Rates drift. Terms renew. Vendors change what they charge without asking.
This is the part nobody does, and the reason the fee is worth paying.
Always vigilant
Anyone can quote you a rate once. What costs money to do — and what almost nobody does — is keep watching after the install.

Tools, not the story
Useful once we understand the business — and not before. A recommendation only means something after we can explain what problem it solves, what it costs you, and whether the disruption is worth it. Often the honest answer is to keep what you already have.
The Vigilant Brief
One fee worth checking on your next statement. One platform worth knowing about. One thing changing in the industry that actually affects you. Nothing else, and nothing you have to act on.
I run a business
I want to work with Vigilant
We work with people who think payments should be profitable, transparent and properly supported — all three, for everyone in the chain, not just the layer doing the selling.
