Chargezoom

A payment terminal that lives inside QuickBooks, at a published flat monthly price.

An independent assessment. Vigilant can place Chargezoom, and is paid the same either way — which is why the drawbacks are on this page too.

What it is

Chargezoom puts an embedded payment terminal inside QuickBooks, with a Chrome extension so you never leave the ledger to take a payment. Two-way syncing keeps invoices, payments and customers matched on both sides, and multi-customer batch processing runs a whole ageing report in one click.

What separates it from the other AR tools on this site is the pricing model: flat monthly fees with no basis points and no per-transaction fee, tiered by monthly volume. Pro is $9/month for integrated payments. Business is $29/month and adds GAAP-compliant surcharging and text-to-pay links. Plus starts at $99/month for the full lifecycle suite and scales by volume — $99 at $50,000/month, $169 at $100,000, $279 at $200,000, up to $999 at $1,000,000.

For a B2B business with large average invoices, flat pricing with no BPS is a genuinely different economic model from everything else here, and it is worth modelling against your actual volume.

Who it fits

Best for

B2B and professional services running QuickBooks with large average invoices, where a percentage-based model is expensive and a flat fee is not.

Probably not ideal for

Low-volume businesses and anyone not on QuickBooks. Below about $50,000/month the flat tiers stop being the cheap option.

Strengths and tradeoffs

Strengths

  • The deepest accounting integrations in this group — payments, invoices and reconciliation stay in step automatically.
  • Strong recurring billing and subscription handling, which suits retainers and contracts.
  • Reconciliation is the design goal, so month-end stops being a manual exercise.
  • Works with multiple gateways, which keeps the processing negotiable.
  • Good fit for bookkeepers managing payments across a portfolio of clients.

Tradeoffs

  • Its value depends on your books being in good order; it will not fix a messy ledger.
  • Less useful if you do not live in QuickBooks or Xero.
  • Fewer consumer-facing collection channels than Hyfin — no WhatsApp or QR-code collection.
  • No dual pricing, so card cost stays on your P&L.
  • More of an accounting tool than a sales tool; the person who loves it is usually the bookkeeper.

Pricing

Pro $9/mo · Business $29/mo · Plus from $99/mo at $50k monthly volume, scaling to $999/mo at $1M. Flat rate pricing — no BPS, no transaction fees.

Pricing reflects what the vendor publishes or what we have seen quoted. Your actual terms depend on volume, card mix and what is negotiated — which is the part we do.

Vigilant's assessment

If your accounting system is the source of truth and reconciliation is the pain, this is the right pick. If the pain is that customers do not pay, Biller Genie chases better and Hyfin gives you more ways to collect.

How it compares

Where should the payment record live — in a payments platform, or in your accounting system? That is really what separates these three.
