GiveHub
Giving kiosks, tap plates and donor management for churches and nonprofits.
- Nonprofit
An independent assessment. Vigilant can place GiveHub, and is paid the same either way — which is why the drawbacks are on this page too.
What it is
GiveHub is a complete giving platform rather than a donation button. Online and mobile giving forms, text giving, unlimited email campaigns, donor CRM, volunteer scheduling, event management with ticketing, raffles and auctions, membership and reservations, plus a custom mobile app with no design or setup fee and app-store submission included.
The hardware is the part people remember. Wrapped donation kiosks in three tiers from $999 to $4,999 sit in the lobby, and Tap Plates — NFC discs a donor taps with a phone, no app required — go on chair backs, tables and welcome desks. They carry no monthly fee.
The economics are built around donors voluntarily covering processing, which in practice means most organisations run at effectively zero card cost. Geofencing and push notifications handle the engagement side.
Who it fits
Best for
Churches, faith organisations, nonprofits and schools that want giving, donor management, events and communication in one place.
Probably not ideal for
For-profit businesses. This is built end-to-end around donation and donor workflow.

Strengths and tradeoffs
Strengths
- Built for giving rather than selling — recurring donations, campaigns, pledges and events are the primary objects.
- Kiosk and text-to-give options that suit a congregation or an event, where a card terminal feels wrong.
- Donor records that persist across campaigns, so lapsed givers are visible and recoverable.
- Fee coverage options, letting donors absorb processing costs — which in giving contexts most are happy to do.
- Event and campaign tooling that a general payments platform simply does not have.
Tradeoffs
- Not a retail system; a bookstore or café attached to the organisation needs a separate answer.
- Smaller vendor, so integration with large donor-management systems needs checking early.
- Reporting suits giving rather than general accounting.
- For a very small organisation, a simple payment link may be all that is needed.
- Staff and volunteer training matters more here than in commercial settings, because turnover is high.
Pricing
Kiosks $999–$4,999. Tap Plates carry no monthly fee. Processing is typically covered by donors electing to add it.
Pricing reflects what the vendor publishes or what we have seen quoted. Your actual terms depend on volume, card mix and what is negotiated — which is the part we do.
Vigilant's assessment
Giving behaves differently from buying, and generic payment tools consistently miss that. Recurring giving and fee coverage are the two features that move the numbers most, and both are handled properly here. For a church or a charity this is usually the right starting point.
How it compares
The giving platforms a church or nonprofit actually weighs up. Three of these we cannot place. A comparison of giving software that omitted them would be worse than useless to a treasurer trying to decide.
| Criterion | GiveHub Kiosks, tap plates and donor management | Givebutter Tip-supported, free at platform level Not placed by Vigilant | Tithe.ly App-led church giving Not placed by Vigilant | Pushpay Enterprise multi-site churches Not placed by Vigilant |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best at | In-room giving — kiosks and tap plates where people are standing | Costing the organisation nothing at the platform level | Phone-first giving for a congregation that lives in the app | Large multi-site churches wanting giving and church management together |
| How the platform is paid | Platform fee plus processing | Optional tip asked of the giver | Subscription plus processing | Enterprise pricing, not published |
| Pricing published | No | Yes | Yes | No |
| Suits | Congregations with real in-person attendance | Small nonprofits and campaign fundraising | Churches wanting an app their members will actually open | Multi-site churches with staff to run it |
| Placeable through Vigilant | Yes — a platform we work with | No | No | No |
Verdict. Two honest warnings. If almost all your giving is online, Givebutter costs the organisation nothing at the platform level and a kiosk business cannot beat free — go and look at it. And NFC tap plates are not proprietary magic: they work against most web-based giving pages, so if you already like your platform you may only need the hardware. GiveHub earns its place where a congregation still gives in the room and somebody has to reconcile that against the donor record. That is a narrower claim than the category usually makes.
