Not one we lead with. We can board this if you want it. It is not one we know inside out, so we would be setting it up rather than advising you on it — and we would tell you that before you signed anything. Talk it through with us.

Vino
Wine club, tasting room and DTC in one system built only for wineries.
- Winery
- Retail
- Ecommerce
An independent assessment. Vigilant can place Vino, and is paid the same either way — which is why the drawbacks are on this page too.
What it is
Wineries get sold general retail POS and then discover that none of it understands a wine club. Allocations, member tiers, shipment runs, pickup versus ship, compliance by state, and the twice-yearly club processing weekend that decides your cash flow — a general POS does none of it.
Vino is built for that. The club module processes an entire club run in seconds instead of days. The POS handles the tasting room properly: pours, bottles, flights and club-member pricing at the bar without the staff having to look anything up. The online store sells direct from the winery's own site rather than through a marketplace.
It is a focused, smaller platform. That is the point — the whole product is the wine club.
Who it fits
Best for
Wineries, tasting rooms and any DTC beverage producer running a club or membership programme.
Probably not ideal for
General retail and restaurants. Outside the winery vertical there is nothing here you cannot get better elsewhere.
Key capabilities
- Wine club
- Member tiers, allocations and full club-run processing in seconds rather than over a weekend.
- Tasting room POS
- Pours, bottles, flights and automatic club-member pricing at the bar.
- Online store
- Direct-to-consumer selling from the winery's own site.
- One customer record
- The tasting room, the club and the web store share a member profile.
Strengths and tradeoffs
Strengths
- Built for the way a winery actually sells: tasting room, club, allocation, events and DTC shipping in one place.
- Club billing that handles the awkward parts — holds, skips, substitutions, failed cards and pickup versus ship.
- Compliance-aware for direct-to-consumer shipping, which generic retail systems simply do not address.
- One customer record across tasting room, club and web, so the member is not three separate people.
- Placed and supported locally by us, with the collateral written in our name rather than the vendor's.
Tradeoffs
- A specialist product for a specialist trade. If you are a bottle shop without a club, a general retail POS costs less.
- Smaller vendor and a smaller install base than the big retail platforms.
- Fewer third-party integrations, so unusual back-office stacks need checking early.
- Not a restaurant system — a winery with a full kitchen needs a second answer for the dining room.
- Because the category is small, price comparison is harder; that is exactly the work we do for you.
Pricing
Subscription plus processing, quoted per winery. Priced for a business where the club is the revenue.
Pricing reflects what the vendor publishes or what we have seen quoted. Your actual terms depend on volume, card mix and what is negotiated — which is the part we do.
Vigilant's assessment
If you run a club, this is a different conversation from ordinary retail — club billing is where the revenue and the headaches both live. If you have no club and no shipping, do not pay for this; a general retail system will do the job.
How it compares
A winery is a retail floor, a subscription business and a shipper at once. These three handle that split very differently.
| Criterion | Vino Winery specialist | KORONA POS Retail inventory | Lightspeed Retail depth |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best at | Tasting room, club and DTC as one business | Bottle-shop stock control | Merchandising and omnichannel retail |
| Wine club billing | Purpose-built — holds, skips, substitutions | No | Via subscriptions, generic |
| DTC shipping compliance | Addressed directly | No | No |
| Tasting room flow | Designed for it | Counter service | Retail or restaurant module |
| Inventory depth | Good for a winery catalogue | Deepest | Very strong |
| Processing | Quoted by us | Your choice | Steered first-party |
| Cost | Specialist pricing — ask us | From about $59/month | From about $89/month plus tiers |
| Pick it when | You run a club and ship to customers | You sell bottles across a counter | You merchandise at volume |
Verdict. Club and shipping: Vino, and it is not close. Counter sales only: KORONA. A larger retail operation with a wine department rather than a winery: Lightspeed.
